Anger and murder
Theme: Jesus Christ has come to save murderers; watch over your anger and be reconciled to your brother
“With what shall I come before the LORD, and bow myself before God on high? Shall I come before him with burnt offerings, with calves a year old?…He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the LORD require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?” – Micah 6:6,8
(Jesus speaking to the Pharisees): “You blind fools!” – Matthew 23:17
‘The hell of fire’ is a translation of the Greek term Gehenna. Gehenna was a reference to the Hinnon Valley, a place where the Canaanites had brought human sacrifices to the pagan god Molech (2 Kings 23:10). In Jesus’ day it was a place where garbage burned day and night.
