Theme: Jesus Christ is the Good Shepherd who gave his life for his sheep, they listen to his voice

Why did Jesus Christ die on the cross? That is a very basic question which all Christians should be able to answer. Using the words of Paul, Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners (1 Timothy 1:15). When it comes to explaining how Jesus Christ's life and death on the cross accomplished the salvation of sinners however there is disagreement. According to the Armenians, the death of Jesus Christ made it possible for all sinners to be delivered if only they would choose to believe in Christ. We affirm with them that the death of Jesus Christ was sufficient to pay for the sins of all people who ever lived. Yet we also acknowledge what the Bible teaches us, Christ Jesus died only for his sheep. The sinners who have been delivered from God's wrath through the atoning sacrifice of the Son are those whom God chose to believe in him. Jesus Christ is not half a savior.
